The music in the Santa Fe Desert Chorale’s 2018 Winter Festival focuses on children. “Celebremos El Niños” (Let Us Celebrate the Child), which is presented from December 15 through 23 at two venues in Santa Fe and also in Los Alamos and Albuquerque, includes traditional carols and lullabies from the Americas.
“Celebremos El Niños” is led by the Santa Fe Desert Chorale’s artistic director Joshua Habermann, who also serves as the director of the 200-voice Dallas Symphony Chorus. Habermann is dedicated to programming concerts with a wide range of repertoire from around the world that exposes audiences to less familiar works and treats them to some of their favorite pieces.
A choral group founded in Santa Fe in 1982 by Lawrence Bandfield, the Santa Fe Desert Chorale presents both summer and winter concert seasons.
