The Amy Ray Band, which is touring its new country album “Holler,” performs at The Bridge At Santa Fe Brewing Company on February 27.
“Holler” was released last September and recorded at Ray’s studio in Asheville, N.C.
The band’s goal was to create an album that’s reminiscent of country music of the late 1960’s. Ray’s original tunes are influenced folk, bluegrass, gospel and southern rock. Among the tales they tell are stories of late nights, love, addiction, immigration, despair, honky-tonks, growing up in the south and touring for decades.
Ray began her music career as a member of the duo Indigio Girls, which earned a Grammy Award in 1990. She released her first solo album in 2001 and has six solo rock albums to her name.
