Photographer Tim Wong and calligrapher Akiko Hirano were scientists and faculty members at the University of Washington in Seattle before quitting their positions in 2000 and moving to Santa Fe to open Touching Stone Gallery.
Wong and Hirano are now retired from the gallery world and focusing on their own work. They display photographs and calligraphy at Edition ONE Gallery through the month of February. An opening reception is set for February 8.
Wong, who studied black and white photography at the Photographic Center Northwest in Seattle, and Hirano, who has been practicing the art of calligraphy since the age of six, enjoy collaborating on projects.
